At age 42 Brooke Burke has still got it. But to Brooke, staying young is simply a result of her lifestyle and not something she obsesses over.

In an interview with Health Magazine Brooke declares,

A few wrinkles are the least of my worries. I don’t want to look like a 25-year-old anymore.

Brooke Burke Anti-AgingBrooke is unique among aging beauties. She recently fought thyroid cancer and she won. The experience has given Brooke a wider perspective on staying young. Instead of striving to look like a 25-year-old she strives to be her best healthy self. In the video below Camille Chatterjee, Deputy Editor of Health Magazine, says that Brooke is embracing mother nature. Brooke’s secret to thriving is hard work, sweat, a clean diet, and most importantly preventative medicine. She advocates for all women to visit their doctors regularly even if they feel their best.

Brooke on Hitting 40

The 40s are a reality check. That’s when some people are trying to look 25. I would like to slow down my aging process, but I don’t want to look like a pumpkin, all swollen! I don’t want to fill every flaw in my face. A few? But you have to embrace Mother Nature a little. I’m a woman. I’m a wife. I’m a mother of four. I don’t want to look like a 25-year-old anymore. I want to be my best healthy self.

Brooke advocates that at age 40 women follow a plan but still live life. If you crave a piece of chocolate eat it. If you don’t feel like a killer workout replace it with a walk but get back on plan ASAP.

Brooke on Exercise and Diet

Brooke admits to working hard when she works out 5 days per week. She enjoys a good sweat and doesn’t hold back. At the same time she keeps her fitness routines under 1 hour per day. There are several fitness experts who advocate for shorter, high intensity workouts. The shorter workouts keep your hungry pains down but at the same time can really put your body into fat burning mode.

I’m totally working out harder than ever before, but I’m doing it in a smarter, quicker way. I don’t have more than an hour to spend anywhere, anytime”…Working to fatigue and pushing yourself to your limit every time you work out is what I’m totally into.

She supports her efforts with a healthy diet loosely based upon the Mediterranean diet. She includes lots of water, fish, olive oil, salads, and vegetables into her plan. Her diet secret? “I don’t ever skip meals. If you let yourself get too hungry, you’ll start craving sugary, fatty foods, and you’ll make bad choices.”
